Blackboard Bingo

Purpose:

To review vocabulary

Preparation time:

10 minutes

Materials:

Slips of paper, notepaper for students, pens/pencil

Preparation:

Choose 10-15 words that your students know and can read. Write each word on a slip of paper.

Procedure:

  1. Write the 10-15 words chosen on the board.
  2. Ask the students to choose any 5 and write them on their papers. Remind them not to just write the first 5.
  3. Draw a slip of paper and read the word written on it. If the students have written that word on their papers, they should put a check next to it.
  4. Continue drawing slips until someone has had all 5 of their words drawn. That person should yell, “BINGO.”
  5. Have that student read back the words on the list. Check to see if he/she is correct.
