Purpose:

To practice vocabulary and writing skills

Preparation time:

None

Procedure:

1.       Choose an important vocabulary word. For example: winter

2.       Have the learners generate 10 words (or 5 for lower-level students) that relate to the key word. Write the words on the board or a sheet of paper.

3.       Have the students tell you a story that uses all 10 of the words. As they say the word, check it off on the board.

4.       More advanced students should then write down the story.

5.       In a larger class, students can create their stories in small groups. Then they share their story with the rest of the class, which will listen for the 10 words.
