In September, 2007, MLC opened its doors for the first day of the Children's English School at the MLC Learning Center in Northeast Minneapolis.  Children between the ages of 3 and 5 attend while their parent or guardian takes adult English classes at the Center.  After each class, children and parents participate in shared learning time together in the children's classroom, learning about activities they can do at home to promote literacy and school readiness.

The Children's English School is free. Enrollment takes place every Wednesday from 12:15 p.m.- 2:15 p.m.  Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. followed by a shared parent/child literacy time from 12:00-12:15 p.m.

To enroll yourself and your child in classes, please contact the MLC Learning Center-Northeast at (612)-789-9024. It is located at 2511 Taylor St. NE on the corner of Lowry Ave. NE.

To learn more about the Children's English School, please contact Early Literacy & Family program coordinator, Ebyan Abdulle or call 651-645-2277, ext. 211.
