An Overview of the Project Tools

Culture and Value Assessments :

• You as a Culturally Diverse Person - This tool helps individuals to explore their own cultural influences and assess themselves in the area of cultural competence.
• You as a Culturally Diverse Person Extension Activity - Use this extension activity to further explore the cultural influences of individuals.
• Values Clarification - This tool explores ways that values differ between distinct cultures and even individuals and how this can influence tutor/learner relationships.
• Cultural Dimensions in the Learning Environment - This tool helps individuals determine what  cultural norms influence teaching and learning functions. 
• Developing a Culturally Sensitive Learning Environment Assessment - This assessment helps programs to assess their learning environment, looking at factors that make their environment either welcoming or inhibiting and acts as a checklist to enhancing the learning environment.

Educational Heritage Tools:

Educational heritages guides will be available for different countries that adult English language learners come from. This includes country reports with research-based information, personal interviews and/or stories of Minnesota learners, and a list of cultural resources including websites and organizations.
