Purpose:
To share family information, relationship language; ask/answer questions
Materials:
Photos of your family
Procedure:
- Ask learners to bring photographs of their family to class.
- Share a photograph of your own family. Model sharing some basic information about your family members, such as: “This is my son. His name is Jim. He is eight years old. He is in second grade. He likes to ride his bike. His favorite food is pizza.”
- Encourage the class to ask some questions about your son. If students have trouble generating questions, you can brainstorm some possible questions as a group.
- Ask for a volunteer to come to the front of the class and show his or her family picture and share information. Have the class ask some follow-up questions. If they have trouble, you can model asking questions.
