Health Literacy Movie Night
Minnesota Health Literacy Partnership
Low health literacy affects a person's health status more than any other factor, according to the Minnesota Health Literacy Partnership.

Learn how reading ability influences a person's interactions with health care providers and, in turn, overall health. Alisha Ellwood, Chair of the Minnesota Health Literacy Partnership and Project Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield, will lead a short presentation, followed by a movie and discussion about current trends related to this topic. She will share steps you can take to improve your own health literacy, as well tools for promoting health literacy among your students and community.

All volunteers and anyone interested in literacy are welcome. Please invite friends or family to attend with you. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

When: Wednesday, March 3, 2010, 6:30 pm

Where: Minnesota Literacy Council, 756 Transfer Road, St. Paul

Cost: Free
