Instructors' Comments
Literacy instructors have positive comments about this student writing journal:

“There has always been a lot of excitement at the Mankato Area Adult Basic Education program in regard to the publication Journeys: Stories and Poems to Open Your Mind. I know when the students have received their copies of their published articles … they are just beaming and smiling from ear to ear.  It has been one of the greatest esteem builders that we have had to offer our learners.

"The publication motivates students to do writing exercises and to proofread them more carefully. Teachers use the publication in class as a 'you can do this' example. The Mankato students have had stories published in every publication since its inception in April of 1991. These books are a part of our program history and the lives of those who attended our school.”

"I use Journeys: Stories and Poems to Open Your Mind every time it comes out. The students like the writings because they’re short and realistic. I also have had several students have something published.”

“The students enjoy learning about people from other cultures and people who have walked where they have.”
