Purpose: To practice recognizing abbreviations commonly found in job ads

Preparation Time:  None

Materials:  Paper and pencils; list of relevant abbreviations, beans or slips of paper to cover the squares

Procedure:

1)      Teach students the abbreviations and write them on the board

2)      Students make a bingo board on blank paper. It should be 3 squares by 3 squares. Model on the board if necessary.

3)      Students write one abbreviation in each square on their board.

4)      Hand out the beans or slips of paper.

5)      Explain the rules of Bingo.

6)      Call out the full names of the terms (not the abbreviations) to play the game.
