Purpose:
To provide students with support for spelling tasks
Materials:
Paper, pencils, notebook
Procedure:
- Learners use a separate notebook or a separate section in their notebook.
- Create an “A” page, a “B” page, etc.
- When learners encounter new words, they can enter them on the appropriate page in their notebook. Low-level readers may want to add a picture next to the spelling of the word. Other learners may want to have the word written in their own language, or other information about the part of speech, pronunciation, etc.
- In later lessons you can do activities that give learners practice looking up their words.
