Materials:  

Short reading passage

Preparation:

Find a short reading passage that your student would be able to read independently. For higher-level students, it can be a paragraph. For lower-level students it can be simple sentences or even individual words. Make copies for each student.

Procedure:

1. Give the student the passage.
2. Ask the student to follow along as you read and to let you know when you make mistakes.
3. Read the passage and make some errors by skipping or mispronouncing words, jumbling up sentences, etc.
