Purpose:
To practice grocery store vocabulary; to practice math skills related to money

Copies of the same grocery store circular; real or fake money (bills in $1, $5, $10, $20 denominations)
Procedure:
- Show learners the $1 bill and elicit how much it is worth.
- Distribute the circulars.
- Point to a product in the circular. Ask learners if you could buy that product with $1. Do this with a few more products.
- Learners look through the circular to find other things they could buy with $1.
- Show learners the $5 bill. Point to a combination of products in the circular and ask if you could buy them with $5.
- Learners find combinations of products they could buy with $5.
- Assign each learner an amount of money. They must decide what they would buy from the circulars using that amount. Learners then share their shopping lists.
