N-400 and other form fees
The cost for filing a citizenship application with USCIS is $675 as of July 30. To be absolutely sure about application fees check the USCIS forms & fees webpage to determine accurate fees. You can also print out the most current version of the form from this website.
Change of Address by phone, mail or online:
People with pending applications for naturalization (N-400) may report their change of address to the NCSC toll free at 1.800.375.5283 instead of submitting the change in writing. Only naturalization applicants may submit their address changes by phone.
Naturalization Test Redesign
There are now 96 questions, not 100 history and government questions. Wording on some questions has been changed. A final new exam is scheduled for debut in summer of 2008. The format may or may not be similar to what currently exists. A panel of ESL and ABE experts is currently reviewing and will be piloting possibilities.
Infopass
USCIS has an Internet based appointment system called "Infopass." N-400 applicants who wish to speak with an INS officer in Bloomington or any other INS office must go online to schedule a date and time to meet with immigration information officers. InfoPass is offered in many languages including: Arabic, Chinese, Creole, English, French, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, Russian, and Vietnamese. Applicants may also go online to check the status of their pending application and get emailed updates when the status of their case changes.
Photos for N-400 Applications
Photos for the citizenship application should be current (taken within 3 months) and be a full face view. Pictures with a 3/4 view will not be accepted. |
