The ELF - CEED Partnership

The mission of the Minnesota Literacy Council is to share the power of learning through education, community building and advocacy. Through this mission, MLC: helps adults become self-sufficient citizens through improved literacy, helps children and families gain literacy skills to increase school success, strengthens communities by raising literacy levels, encouraging volunteerism and raises awareness of literacy needs and services throughout the state.

CEED has spent more than 30 years helping

children from infancy through age eight to learn and develop to their maximum potential. CEED achieves its mission through:  applied research to identify and solve community problems; research-based training of early childhood professionals; and community outreach that disseminates knowledge to support policy development and early childhood advocacy.

Both MLC and CEED are dedicated to promoting young children's development and the skills of adults who serve them.  This training collaboration brings together the best of both organizations – practical experience with families with young children plus research-based knowledge of early childhood education –  and offers it to community members who impact the development of children's literacy skills.
