Become a Volunteer Tutor at MLC

Helping someone learn to read and write is a powerful way to change a life for the better.  More than 11 million American adults can’t read or write.  Another 20 million can read just a little, but not well enough for everyday needs like understanding food labels and bus schedules, or reading a book to a child.  And many children read below grade level.

Minnesota Literacy Council volunteers make a difference in the lives of each adult learner or child they tutor.  Join us today in creating a strong, vibrant, literate Minnesota – one learner at a time.

You can choose to Tutor Adults learning basic literacy skills, or Tutor Children at an afterschool or daytime program.
